Kirk B. Burkley, Partner
Kirk concentrates his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, financial restructuring and creditors’ rights. Kirk is experienced in representing secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy, including the representation of numerous unsecured creditors’ committees, equipment lessors, and commercial landlords. He has quickly become one of the most well respected lawyers in his field, as is evidenced by being named a Pennsylvania Rising Star by Philadelphia Magazine both in 2005, 2006 and 2007. He frequently appears before the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as well as the Pennsylvania state courts. Kirk is the supervising partner of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice group. The Bankruptcy and Restructuring group handles bankruptcy cases nationwide and act as an efficient clearinghouse and one-stop shop for our clients’ bankruptcy needs.

Interests:
Kirk is an avid ice-hockey player and is the founding member and captain of the Allegheny County Bar Association adult hockey team. He also volunteers at the Westmoreland County Humane Society where he met and adopted two abandoned blue tick coonhound puppies. Kirk finds long hikes through the woods with his wife and two dogs the best way to relax and reflect. He also enjoys running, golfing and skeet shooting.
